Nearby private and parochial schools include Ascension School, Meredith-Dunn School, St. Barnabas School and St. Pius X School. EVENTS/THINGS TO DO
Local events near Hikes Point include the summer and fall Antiques Market in East End/Hurstbourne, The Jane Austen Festival, and the 18th Century Market Faire. Louisville’s pride happens the first weekend in May, featuring the Kentucky Derby and Festival. The summer is kicked off with over 70 events that include steamboat races, hot-air balloons, a marathon, parade and fireworks over Derby weekend. Additional events include the Kentucky Reggae Festival, the Waterside Festival, the Blues-n-Barbeque Festival, Kentucky Music Weekend, A Taste of Louisville, Oktoberfest and much more.
Residents are offered a bevy of activities and places of interest, from the viewing the fossils at the Falls of the Ohio State Park, hitting the green on one of Louisville’s top golf courses, to the B.B. Speed Museum, the Louisville Motor Speedway, the Louisville Zoo, the Louisville Science Center, sink 100 feet below ground to the Louisville Mega Cavern or head to the most famous racetrack in the country, Churchill Downs.

Hikes Point residents are committed to their community. For more 50 years, the Hikes Point Optimist Club has provided sports programs that provide a safe place for the area children to play, shaping their future through competition and scholarship. Youth baseball, softball, basketball and football programs positively impact more than 1,200 kids annually in the Hikes Point area.
